INSPECT HORIZONTAL HINGE PIN AND BEARINGS

1.
Inspect shaded areas of horizontal hinge pin (1)
as follows:
a.
Check for rust or corrosion. There shall be
no rust or corrosion.
b.
Check for stains. Stains shall be removable
using solvent or light polishing.
c.
Check for grinding, honing, or polishing
marks. Use scribe. Marks shall not be felt as
scribe slides over them.
2.
Check critical chromium-plated areas (2) of
horizontal hinge pin (1) for pits, dents, nicks,
scratches, scuffs, rust, or corrosion. Critical
chromium-plated areas (2) shall have none of
these defects.
