REMOVE BYPASS VALVE
NOTE
Do not let oil spill on fins of oil cooler.
Spilled oil will spray from cooler during
transmission operation.
4.
Remove lockwire from bypass valve (5). Remove
valve from oil cooler (3). Use cloths (E120) to
absorb oil spillage.
5.
Remove packing (6) from valve (5).
INSTALL VALVE
Oil (E253 or E254) is a skin irritant. If
oil gets on skin, wash thoroughly. If oil
soaks into clothes, change clothes
immediately.
Oil (E253 or E254) gives off fumes
that can cause injury to personnel.
Use oil in a well-ventilated area.
6.
Coat packing (6) and thread of bypass valve (5)
with oil (E254). Install packing on valve.
7.
Install valve (5) in oil cooler (3). Torque valve to
80 inch-pounds.
8.
Lockwire valve (5) to oil cooler (3). Use lockwire
(E231).
INSPECT
FOLLOW-ON MAINTENANCE:
Service combining transmission (Task 1-54).
Close aft pylon doors (Task 2-2).
