SIGNAL DATA CONVERTER (SDC)
The SDC converts avionics data into display files which
are prepared for dual display units. These files are
processed by a digital processor generating real time
signals which is the symbology displayed by the OU.
CONVERTER CONTROL UNIT (CCU)
The CCU enables the pilot or copilot to operate and
control the HUD. It consists of all the controls necessary
to independently select the displays prior to and during
flight, to control the symbology position and intensity,
to provide symbology selection at the AVUM level and
allows initiation of the built-in test (BIT), system FAIL
and ON indicators, and independent controls for the pilot
and copilot to select the symbology to be displayed.
