Determine the finish system used on the rotor
blade (TM 55-1500-344-23).
a.
For rotor blades without 59 proceed to step
1.1.
b.
For rotor blades with 59 proceed to Task
2-350.1.

Remove finish around repaired area of blade (1)
as follows:
a.
Remove finish. Use sanding block and
abrasive paper (E7).
Acetone (E20) is extremely flammable.
It can be toxic. Avoid inhaling. Use
only with adequate ventilation. Avoid
contact with skin, eyes, or clothing.
Keep away from heat, sparks, or open
flame. In case of contact, immediately
flush skin or eyes with water for
at least 15 minutes. Get medical
attention for eyes.
b.
If finish requires softening, use acetone
(E20). Wear gloves (E184.1).
c.
Complete finish removal. Use abrasive paper
(E9).
